We explained that all the pictures of the alligators are like the "Y" and the cougar that we would see everywhere in Utah, and how the "gator" was the mascot of the school. Brad promised the boys to take them to a game. Then we heard Rhett in a low but intense voice doing a nostalgic cheer with the wrong words, "Goooooooooo, alligators!" He tried it with several different cadences, not of which seemed to work because the word "alligator" just had too many syllables to work. With a chuckle we corrected him and let him know it was just "gator" which made it much easier for him to practice his cheering. The whole experience reminded me of the 4th of July parade in Provo several years ago when some newcomers to town were sitting next to us when the BYU float went by. The little girl leaned over to her dad and asked what animal that was on the float (Cosmo) and he told her it was a mountain lion. I couldn't help myself and started cheering while rolling my arms, "Gooooooo Mountain Lions." The family members were good sports as the crowd explained to them who Cosmo was and I'm sure they will never mistake Cosmo for just a mere Mountain Lion again. (Of course we let Rhett know that being a Cougar is always our first choice, but now that we're in Florida it was going to be more common to see the gator.)

Parks and Pizza
Nothing new to report. We are basically filling up our time by acquainting ourselves with every park in the tri-county area and eating more fast food than should be legal. Since there's nothing interesting to share, I will give a quotable quote from Rhett. "Hey mom, why does everyone have alligators on their cars except for us? When are we going to get our alligator flag?"

I see some college football confusion coming on......if you don't teach those kids correctly, their uncle Nate will be sorely displeased.
Make sure you warn them of the persecution that may arise as cougar fans....but I guess they're used to that at church with the protestors.....so you're good.
